Sweeter Than Salt
by Quinn Ashford · Ongoing · 15 chapters · ★ 4.2 (53 ratings)
When Della Monroe inherits her grandmother's bakery in Birch Harbor, Maine, she plans to sell it fast and get back to the city life she's scrambling to rebuild. But the harbor has other ideas — starting with Cal Bishop, the lobsterman next door who makes it clear an outsider with a pastry case isn't welcome to touch a town he's spent his life trying to hold together. Between a grandmother's handwritten recipes, a teenager who needs someone steady, and a whole town watching to see what she'll do, Della finds herself falling for a place — and a man — she swore she wasn't staying for. Cal has spent three years keeping his father's boat running and his nephew fed, certain that people who love the harbor for a season always leave before the frost. Sweeter Than Salt is a slow-burn small-town romance about grief that doesn't announce itself, love that argues before it admits anything, and the particular stubbornness of people who'd rather fix something than say what they feel.
